Weekend Beyer Speed Figures

It was a great weekend of racing in which we saw many of the best take to the track.

Headlining that was Horse of Year Rachel Alexandra returning to form with a huge win in the Fleur de Lis at Churchill Downs on Saturday and Zenyatta's gutsy win Hollywood's Vanity Handicap on Sunday.

Thanks to my friends at the Daily Racing Form, here are the key Beyer Speed Figures from those races.

Rachel Alexandra       108 (winning margin  - 10 1/2-lengths)

Vanity Handicap
Zenyatta                     103 (winning margin - 1/2 length)
St. Trinians                102

Stephen Foster
Blame                           102 (winning margin - 3/4 length)
Battle Plan                    101
General Quarters            96

  1. All hail to Rachel's 108 Beyer! Who isn't surprised after watching the race but still elated by the validation of the number. Blame and Zenyatta's numbers don't quite tell the whole story with her 129 lbs. and his great move in the last 50 yards to win. I hope Rail Trip continues his west coast dominance and gives us that poly-track/pro-ride mystery for the Breeders' Cup. Thanks for the numbers Lane.
